Ce matin, j'ai pris quelques photos pour vous des perce-neige dans le jardin. Le perce-neige annonceur de printemps a inspiré de nombreuses légendes à nos ancêtres. Selon la Génèse, Adam et Eve chassés du paradis sont désespérés par la rudesse de l'hiver. Un ange vient à eux et transforme un flocon de neige en fleur, symbole d'espoir et de pureté.
Dans une autre version, c'est une larme d'Eve qui est transformée, ce qui vaut au perce-neige le surnom de Eve's tear en anglais.
Le perce-neige est également associé à la chandeleur et la fête de Martisor, célébrée dans les pays de l'Est le 1er mars. Les légendes roumaines racontent le combat entre la méchante sorcière Hiver et la fée Printemps, ou encore l'histoire de la belle Giralda, qui libéra le prince du mauvais sort qui lui avait été jeté en lui offrant un perce-neige symbolisant son amour...
Au coin du feu, on raconte aussi aux enfants que le perce-neige a offert sa couleur à la neige, alors qu'aucune autre fleur ne voulait lui faire ce cadeau. En guise de remerciement, la neige lui permet tous les ans de traverser son manteau...
